Patanjali said; Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations in the mind. Your thoughts jump from one thing to another. Below or above, just wat you prefer, there is a state of consciousness that is free of duality. No yes and no no, no black or no white, flowing, fitting in the moment from a oneness with your environment, also called &#8216;flow&#8217;. One of my courses for yoga teachers is about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our brain wants to order. As humans, we have the ability to shape ourselves and our environment by ordering. In essence, to reduce the complexity of a situation to something more simple. That is a wonderful ability and a reassuring pleasure. And at the same time, it can lead to distortion of what is. Lead to conflict and dissatisfaction because not everything fits in the mold we have created; so duality arises. Duality about how you judge yourself and anything and -body around you. Yoga helps you to go into a state of nonduality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resemblance between a winterlandscape and practicing Yoga, this is the focus of my &#8216;Prana&#8217; lessons. Prana is a word from Sanskrit, a language in India and means Vital Life Energy. Practicing Yoga brings you closer to yourself. What does that mean? It&#8217;s like a winter landscape in which the world around you is calmer. You get less visual stimuli because everything is covered with a layer of snow. Everything seems more quiet and the smallest sounds louder. A leaf that crackles, a stream of water that babbles. This way, practicing yoga increases your sensitivity to what is happening within you. You learn to listen to your body and feelings.
